The Rwandan Association of Queensland (RAQ)Inc.

The Rwandan Association of Queensland (RAQ)Inc.  is a not- for profit community organisation that welcomes all Rwandans and friends of Rwanda across Queensland. RAQ was officially incorporated as an association in 2003 and since then, it has continued to welcome all Rwandans regardless of their ethnicity, religion, gender and political affiliation.

The Rwandan people are very resilient people and hard working. All that the Rwandan association of Queensland has done, and will continue to do, is to help keep all members in a community spirit by creating a supportive and enabling environment.

Our objectives

Below are our objectives:

Healthy Relationship

To promote healthy relationships both among Rwandans and their families and with other Australians

Integration

To help Rwandan community members to integrate smoothly and successfully into the Australian society

Tegetherness

To welcome and encourage Rwandans to come together irrespective of their ethnicity, religion, gender and political interests

Culture showcasing

To showcase the Rwandan culture, music, dance, drumming, art and history to other Australians

Supporting community

To assist new Rwandan arrivals with required service such as settlement assistance and community support

Social assistance promotion

To promote social assistance between community members in case of emergency such as accidents, health problems, funerals etc.

Rwandans sponsorship and support

To sponsor and support other Rwandans to come to Australia

Business initiation

To initiate small scale business projects that help members
